Last month Princess K turned 7.  She chose a “Hip Hop Party” at the dance studio.  She invited about 20 friends.  They learned a short routine, had cupcakes and then performed for all the parents at the end.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame….

The whole fam spent the afternoon at the ballpark yesterday for the Twins game.  Many thanks to our gracious friend for the tix!

The kids had a blast.  And believe it or not, it was the 2nd game for each of them (even baby D!) D’s first game was earlier this year at a work even for Daddy-Man and the girls was at the dome a couple of years ago (here).

I was a bit nervous about the seats at first, they are up against a wall and I was immediately worried about how often we’d have to crawl over people to get out.  Luckily, though, the girls didn’t ask to leave the seats once and being against the wall was PERFECT for baby D and I to stand and sway for a good portion of the game.  I know the family behind me appreciated that I wasn’t standing in front of them!

After the game the kids got to go down on the field to run the bases.  Being out on the warning track and down on field level was thrilling for all of us. (I’m just going to go ahead and speak for baby D and say that he was thrilled too!)

Of course, I had to stop to for a photo op in the outfield.

I wish I would have had the shot just a little more to the left, I think K might be touching home plate in this photo.

(It really is a shame nobody ever takes this girl’s picture, isn’t it!)

We had a fabulous time at the game.  It was such a great family afternoon!

The Graduate

DSC_0254

Last week K “graduated” Kindergarten.

She was so proud of herself, the part of the poem that she got to recite, and the song that they learned to sing.

That morning, she had her backpack on 20 minutes early and wanted to head out to the bus stop.

K really had a fantastic year in Kindergarten.  We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher and first year in school.  Each and every day she bounced in the door with a smile on her face, excited to tell me all about the things she did that day.  She just adored her teacher and Little Mama is already making plans to be in her class two years from now {fingers crossed}.

The last day of school they had a pajama “camp out” in their classroom.  She came home raving about reading books in the tent, having a picnic lunch outside with her friends, and lots of other fun classroom camping activities.

The girls were THRILLED this week to receive their trophies at dance.

Little Mama earned her 2nd year trophy, while K earned her 3rd.

The Jewels

The girls had a great year dancing.  It’s recital weekend and while it will be hectic, it’s sure to be fun and most definitely entertaining.  I’ll be back with pictures when I’ve sorted them.

Don’t hold your breath for it to be anytime soon.  Maybe one or 2, but not all of them.

too good not to post.

It’s late and I should be in bed…so I’m going to just share this photo that I find absolutely hil.air.i.ous.

Thank goodness for the fancy camera or I would never have caught this shot.

Kickin’ it

DSC_0989DSC_0018

Soccer season has begun.  For K, it started last Thursday where yours truly was the coach at the helm.  Considering I know NOTHING about soccer it was quite amusing.  (Ok, well I know you kick the ball into the net – but that’s about it.  I suppose at age 6 that’s really all they need to know too).

Tonight it was Little Mama’s very first soccer night.  She was thrilled.  She got to play with her two besties and while she wasn’t the fastest or most athletic kid out there, she sure did give it everything she had.

K is also playing with quite a few of her besties.  This is both good and bad.  Good because they get to be together – bad because they are together.  It is nice that she knows everyone on the team but they are all so comfortable with one another that they are very silly and it’s hard for them to keep focused on soccer.

Tonight, I didn’t get many photos since they called off practice due to the thunder storm that was rolling in.  Hopefully I can get some great ones next time.
