too good not to post.

It’s late and I should be in bed…so I’m going to just share this photo that I find absolutely hil.air.i.ous.

Thank goodness for the fancy camera or I would never have caught this shot.

Kickin’ it

DSC_0989DSC_0018

Soccer season has begun.  For K, it started last Thursday where yours truly was the coach at the helm.  Considering I know NOTHING about soccer it was quite amusing.  (Ok, well I know you kick the ball into the net – but that’s about it.  I suppose at age 6 that’s really all they need to know too).

Tonight it was Little Mama’s very first soccer night.  She was thrilled.  She got to play with her two besties and while she wasn’t the fastest or most athletic kid out there, she sure did give it everything she had.

K is also playing with quite a few of her besties.  This is both good and bad.  Good because they get to be together – bad because they are together.  It is nice that she knows everyone on the team but they are all so comfortable with one another that they are very silly and it’s hard for them to keep focused on soccer.

Tonight, I didn’t get many photos since they called off practice due to the thunder storm that was rolling in.  Hopefully I can get some great ones next time.

Soccer

This summer, in addition to dance, K has taken up soccer.  We are playing in our town through the AYSO organization.  She's thrilled to be on the purple team and even happier that 2 of her besties are on the purple team too.

Her age group plays once a week.  They practice basic soccer skills and run some drills for the first 30 minutes and then scrimmage 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 for the other 30 minutes.

Last night was her 2nd night, we had to miss 2 due to weather and dance commitments, and she had a BLAST.

I don't think I saw a moment when she wasn't beaming out on the field!

During the scrimmage, it took her a little bit to realize that she could be agressive with the ball and the other players, but once she caught on - she was after the ball any chance she had.

Sure, she got knocked around a bit...but she was very proud of herself when she told us she was being tough.  She was even prouder when she told us that she "even knocked over a couple of the yellow guys."
