K’s Fall party theme was “Nursery Rhymes.” Instead of wearing traditional Halloween costumes, each kid in her class dressed up as something from a nursery rhyme.
Personally, I thought she’d make a great Little Bo Peep, Little Miss Muffet, or something else rather girly. She had other thoughts, though. Once she heard that she could wear her jammies to school and it would count for “Wee Willie Winkie” she was sold. Here she is with her kitty cat snack (half eaten).
Here she is with her clock, pointing right to 8-o’clock.
Little Mama and I went to help out with the party and we had a great time playing games with our Kindergarten friends. Little Mama, of course, was sad when it was time to leave. She wishes she could be in Kindergarten too.
Oh, and if you are unfamiliar with this particular Nursery Rhyme…here you go.
Wee Willie Winkie
Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town,
Upstairs and downstairs in his nightgown.
Rapping at the windows,
Crying through the locks,
Are the children in their beds?
For now it’s 8 o’clock.
