He knows if you've been bad or good...

We had a very exciting weekend. Saturday night we decided it was time to make the big voyage to the mall so that the girls could see Santa and Kaylee could put in her requests for Xmas. She was so excited to tell Santa that she wanted a Barbie this year. We also asked her to help Maya put in her requests too. Kaylee relayed that Maya wanted "baby toys." She's a baby, what else would she want?
Now for those of you that may be well beyond the days of visiting Santa at the mall, let me tell you that the whole process has changed a bit. You don't just get to show up and stand in line anymore. Nope. Now, you have to show up, sign up, get a pager and your wait time estimate, then they page you. Once you are paged THEN (and only then), do you get to stand in line for the honor of meeting Mr. Claus. Luckily we found an Applebee's where we could have dinner and pass the time before being paged. Oh, let's not forget that once you meet the Claus, they take your photo (or your kids photo) and then you get the honor of paying through the nose for a copy of the photo they took. After rehashing all of that, let me tell you how much I'm feeling the Xmas spirit!

Here is a photo that I was able to snap while visiting Santa (one of 3 that I was limited to). As you can see, Maya doesn't quite have the concept of Santa yet. Evidently, she doesn't trust that he really know if she's been bad or good and wants to make sure she lets him know by making use of her naughty finger.

Kaylee enjoyed seeing Santa as well as riding the escalators, and tossing her coins in to the fountain. She's got quite an arm, a few of those pennies over shot the fountain and went rolling down the hall!
Maya is getting more mobile every day. We had to break out the baby gate because she can now master the step from the living room to the dining room!

She also enjoys reading...er....eating a good book in the rocking chair.
