It is unreal that Baby D is 9 months old.  He is so active and getting tougher and tougher to keep up with. November 4th After enduring 6 ear infections in 8 and a half short months, Baby D was a great candidate for tubes.  Last week we got to take him in for the surgery. September 2011 Last month Princess K turned 7.  She chose a “Hip Hop Party” at the dance studio.  She invited about 20 friends.  They learned a short routine, had cupcakes and then performed for all the parents at the end.   With Ms. Katie after the party.  (Thanks for a great party Ms.Katie!!)   My crew before K got on the bus on her Birthday Morning.

Last week K “graduated” Kindergarten. She was so proud of herself, the part of the poem that she got to recite, and the song that they learned to sing. May 1, 2011 The Jewels did a FABULOUS job at their second competition of the year.  They had a blast on stage and it really showed! Miss Katie with all of the dancers (aged 4-8) from our studio. It was just a few days ago that everyone was talking about how “nice” the weather was.  We were happily wearing just sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts when it was in the 50’s and 60’s just last week.  This morning we woke up to a winter wonder land.  Since it wasn’t too cold out (only about 33 degrees), it was a great day for playing in the snow.  The snow also apparently made a tasty treat.

We had a great Halloween weekend! Saturday, we carved pumpkins.  The girls had a great time digging out all the goo and carving.  We even saved and baked the pumpkin seeds for a yummy snack! I'm sure we all remember when Little Mama needed stitches because she got hit in the face with that door that I was opening? And then, remember when we found out that incident was also the cause of her chipped tooth and 2 broken roots on her front teeth? Well, it finally happened.  That chipped tooth and the gum above became infected and the tooth had to be pulled.  I felt (and still feel) awful.

About 5 weeks ago (boy am I behind!!) K and Little Mama finally got to start swimming lessons.  The girls and I are members at a local gym and they offer swimming lessons as well. Our dance season is winding down.  It's both a welcome relief and sad at the same time.  I don't think that the girls quite understand the meaning of it all. This summer, in addition to dance, K has taken up soccer.  We are playing in our town through the AYSO organization.  She's thrilled to be on the purple team and even happier that 2 of her besties are on the purple team too. Her age group plays once a week.  They practice basic soccer skills and run some drills for the first 30 minutes and then scrimmage 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 for the other 30 minutes

K had her very first dance competion today.  She had a great time with the rest of the Jewels. They won first place for both of their routines.  She was very proud of her two gold medals.  I'm so proud of my girl and I just love how much she loves to dance.

Saturday, we spent the afternoon with our good friends exploring the Minnesota Children's Museum. The girls had a blast checking everything out. One of the biggest hits of the day was when they got to rock out on stage and see themselves on the monitor. Another big hit was the dinosaur exhibit.  The girls got to dig for fossils.  M loved the goggles and "digging" in the old tires for fossils.

The sun is shining. My windows are open. The snow is melting. It's 40 degrees! Spring is just around the corner! And for all the Californian's (or other warm weather readers) - Yes, 40 degrees is warm enough to have the windows open.  After 3 months of single digit or sub zero temps, 40 degrees is a very welcome relief! Today I started my day playing Littlest Pet Shop (LPS) with K.  I was the baby, she was both the mom and the dad.  M slept until 9, so around 8 executively decided it would be ok to play with M's castle and princesses so they could be neighbors with the LPS animals. Today, I made waffles for breakfast and turned the left overs into eggos.  Which is what M got for breakfast when she wobbled

One of the many potential future careers for K, is party planner.  She planned for a  5th birthday party at Pump it Up, since about 3.2 days after she turned 4.  For the last year she's had every birthday party planned until she turns 8.  6 was going to be McDonalds, 7 dance party, 8 Chuck E Cheese. Until today. Today, she told me that she discussed birthday parties with her friends over lunch
