We had a very productive weekend. We spent lots of time outside and Kaylee and Maya loved it!
The least desirable task of the day was evicting a birds nest that had taken up residence in a vent in the outer wall of our house. I hated that we had to do it but last year we didn't know it was there until the baby birds had already hatched. Unfortunately we didn't get up there this year until today. Sadly we evicted the nest and 5 eggs. It breaks my heart to do that to the little bird mommy and those babies but it had to be done. They just can't live in the vent in our house.

When Kaylee asked Corey, "Daddy, are there baby birds in those eggs?" His only reply was, "you'll have to ask Mommy." So of course when she asked me the same question; I did what any mom of a 3 year old trying to protect her from the harsh reality that these birds would not survive would do...I lied. "Nope, no birdies in there honey. These are just like the ones we have inside...just smaller." She bought it and we were off the hook.
Sunday morning brought some bird watching in the front yard and after church a trip to buy a couple of outside toys for the yard.

Maya really enjoyed the bat and the ball. Although, I think Corey may have enjoyed it most.

The playhouse:
And Oreo's.

And Oreo's.

I'm really not sure who taught this kid to eat an Oreo so perfectly. It's like she just knew. Perhaps, it's instinctual to lick the creme out of the middle before you eat the cookie.
